KWA were tasked with expanding a 2 bed house on a small and steep site in Westport Co. Mayo. The brief including a new kitchen and dining room with utility space that would maximise the solar orientation at the rear of the property.

 

The design takes the form of a monopitch roof clad in a standing seam zinc finish. A small sun-trap terrace is formed off the kitchen and accessed from a large three panel slider.
